How to setup Guide+ on Philips DVDR5350H dvd recorder; and this recorder keeps displaying “X error”?
Hello all,
I have been trying to set up my new dvd recorder (Philips DVDR5350) since I bought 3 days ago. It went up to as far as basic set up completed. When I had to carry on next step (setting up / installing Guide+ facility) by following instructions of course, it didn’t do anything although I had left the recorder on standby over night (up to 24 hours) as it was instructed. I kept repeating this stage 3 times now but nothing. Then when I tried to repeat for the fourth time, I chose to skip the set up Guide+ by choosing “install later”. So now after a fashion the recorder is working without having Guide+ installed. However, a message “X error” keep appearing on the top right hand corner of my TV screen. At some point I have to complete the set up by installing Guide+.
Is there anybody there knows what I’m talking about? Can you please help me?

simplest way is in the manual, read and use the bit called “factory reset” that will give you a chance at least…..
